first_imgAn unstoppable attacking force meets an immovable attacking object as Liverpool face PSG in a cracking matchup to kick off the Champions League. These two are known for being two of the most entertaining sides in Europe and it’s no surprise that goals are expected in the match markets.Liverpool have made a storming start to this season, scoring 11 goals on their way to five straight wins in the Premier League. That tally should be higher too, given how much they dominated Tottenham at Wembley over the weekend, but some wastefulness kept the tally respectable as they made a serious statement.Roberto Firmino could be missing after his eye injury at the weekend but Sadio Mane has started the season brilliantly and Mo Salah is never far away from the net and they are far from the only threat for Liverpool.PSG have gone out at the quarter-finals in the last two seasons, but they’ve faced Barcelona and Real Madrid in those two knockout ties and they have one of the most brilliant attacking lines in world football with Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe.Thomas Tuchel’s men have obviously hit the ground running with 17 goals and five wins, scoring at least three in each game, and they had beaten Monaco 4-0 in the French Super Cup before that. Liverpool will obviously be a step up but it’s hardly like they’ve failed to score against European giants when the moment has come. There were 48 goals between these two in the Champions League group stages last season and six of PSG’s eight Champions League ties last term produced four goals or more whilst Liverpool’s six home games in the Champions League last season produced 24 goals. It’s just 5/4 that there are over 3 but that looks a perfectly fair price based on all the evidence so far.Liverpool v Paris Saint-GermainTuesday, 20:00Live on BT Sport 2 HD/ UHDHEAD TO HEAD RECORD(Maximum 10 matches)Apr 1997 CUP WINNERS’ CUP Liverpool 2-0 PSGApr 1997 CUP WINNERS’ CUP PSG 3-0 Liverpool Liverpool are just 11/10 to beat PSG – imagine telling a Kopite that two seasons ago – and they haven’t lost at Anfield in the Premier League in 17 months and they’re unbeaten in 16 European matches. However, PSG’s quality suggests this should be a tight game and the match odds could be best left in favour of over 3.5 goals.RECOMMENDED BETS (scale of 1-100 points)BACK OVER 3.5 GOALS 5pts at 5/4 with starsports.bet PROFIT/LOSS SINCE JAN 1 2017: PROFIT 131.04 points(not including Test series recommendations and Premier League ante-post)last_img read more
