Fort Worth Police do not believe the suspect is still in the immediate area.Rangel added that no TCU students or people with any known TCU affiliations were involved.Fort Worth and TCU police are searching for a suspect in a shooting five blocks from campus, but the university is not on lockdown.TCU police have increased patrols on campus as Fort Worth Police continue their search of the area, Robert Rangel, assistant chief of police for TCU, said.A public safety announcement from Rangel stated Fort Worth Police responded to a report of a shooting just south of the university at 9:30 this morning. Rangel wrote the suspect was last seen near the Albertson’s grocery store at West Biddison Street and Alton Road.“The suspect fled the scene on foot,” Rangel wrote. “[He] is described as a black male, approximately 35 years of age, 5’7″-6’1″, salt and pepper facial hair, last observed wearing a black jacket, gray knit hat and blue jeans.”Anyone who sees the suspect or knows any additional information about the crime is encouraged to call 911 or TCU PD at 817-257-7777.
