Palace, who are three points adrift at the foot of the Premier League with just one win from 11 games, next face Hull, Norwich and West Ham. Although the incoming boss will face a huge task to avoid relegation, Coppell is convinced the club is in a strong position off the field and can blossom in the future. He said: “Keith Millen has done a good job in the last few games. “He has intimated that he doesn’t want the job but he has stabilised the team, against Arsenal and Everton, so the signs are there. “Crystal Palace have four joint-owners and the goal has always been for the club to sustain itself. That should be the goal of any football club. “If they survive this year then I think you always have a better chance in the second year. “I know there is a huge desire at Crystal Palace to get this right and become very solid fixtures at this level.” Coppell, now director of football at League One Crawley, has himself been linked with a return to Selhurst Park in an upstairs role and he would not firmly rule out the possibility. The 58-year-old said: “I have probably spent a quarter of my life working for Crystal Palace so I have got a huge soft spot for them. “People always say never go back, but I have been back four times now. The best thing for me to say is never say never.” Coppell, who managed the club on four occasions, told Press Association Sport: “They need a manager who can cope with Premier League football and also have the energy, if they do go down, to drive the club back up again. “Also, they need the quality and commitment to take on that job. “There are a lot of boxes that need to be ticked and perhaps there isn’t one person who can tick all those boxes. “I think Steve is going through the process at the moment and perhaps thinking sideways about what the future holds and who would be the best man to take the club forward. “It is a complex process but, given the international break, he has used the time well to interview and look at, and talk to, a lot of people. “I’ve got every confidence he will come up with the right combination. “But you don’t want to leave it too long. “The next three games people would look at as being critical. They are all important and winnable games.” Former Crystal Palace manager Steve Coppell believes the club are right to take their time appointing their next manager. Palace have been searching for a new boss since parting company with Ian Holloway on October 23 and co-chairman Steve Parish has admitted the process has taken longer than expected. Ex-Chelsea player Dan Petrescu is thought to be among the front-runners for the position with the Premier League’s bottom side, along with Burnley’s Sean Dyche and former boss Iain Dowie. Powered by Firework After three months of suspension amidst the novel Coronavirus pandemic, world sports has finally seeing their return to action, albeit slowly. Regarding cricket, India has scheduled their tour of Australia coming December. However, global fans of the sport were eager on the outcome of the multiple cancellations that IPL 2020 had to face, and now, BCCI has confirmed that the cash rich cricket tournament is planning to have a behind closed doors return!Advertisement Image Courtesy: Twitter/TOIThe 13th season of Indian Premier League was scheduled to begin on 29th March, but the COVID-19 crisis pushed back the date at first to 15th April, and after the lock down extension in the country, the tournament faced suspension again, without confirming a possible return date. However, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has shed some light on the future of the tournament, stating that a behind closed door tournament is likely a possible option later this year.Advertisement “The BCCI is working on all possible options to ensure that we are able to stage the IPL this year, even if it means playing the tournament in empty stadiums. The fans, franchisees, players, broadcasters, sponsors and all other stakeholders are keenly looking forward to the possibility of IPL being hosted this year,” Ganguly’s letter to the state associations read, as quoted by Times of India.IPL, which observes a huge fan following all over the world, has a lofty number of foreign players and stakeholders, as Ganguly’s letter further stated: “Recently a lot of players, both from India and other countries, participating in IPL have also shown their keenness on being a part of this year IPL.”Advertisement “We are optimistic and the BCCI will shortly decide on the future course of action on this,” Dada added. On the other hand, ICC has the Men’s T20 World Cup in the current year’s schedule, but is yet to confirm the dates of the tournament. While possibility of a clash with the upcoming IPL’s schedule can not be ruled out, Brijesh Patel, the tournament’s governing council chairman, has stated that hosting the tournament in the September-October window is the current target.“We are ready to go ahead with the IPL. But we can start planning the schedule formally only after the official announcement is made on the T20 World Cup, which I’m expecting will arrive anytime soon. On our part, we’ve already earmarked the September-October window for the tournament to be played.” Patel said in an interview with TOI.If you like reading about MMA, make sure you check out MMAIndia.com Also follow India’s biggest arm wrestling tournament at ProPanja.comAlso read-Shikhar Dhawan: “We will win the IPL and bring the trophy home.”A wild swerve: Misled fans accuse Darren Sammy wrongly of being racist towards himself Advertisement

Photo by geocacher Syclone0044Geocache Name:Take a Deep Breath (GC4M0KY)Difficulty/Terrain Rating:3/1.5Why this is the Geocache of the Week:A great gadget cache is tough to build. First, you have to come up with a clever idea. Then you have to plan, buy supplies and actually put them together—not to mention troubleshoot if there are problems. This geocache goes a step further by not only being a clever puzzle, but also a piece of art. The geocache owner placed this geocache on his own property and says that the neighbors just think it’s a neat decoration, but geocachers come from far and wide to make this find and award another Favorite Point. What the geocache owner, Doctor Dolittle, has to say:“It’s relaxing for me to putz around in the garage with wood and tools. I had in mind creating a cache theme matching the veterinary clinic location. Also, I hoped to create a puzzle that was intuitive, would make people laugh but wasn’t too difficult. Snoopy and Woodstock have always been favorites of mine, but it took a year for them to pop into my head….Creating it took 24 man hours and $80 in material costs. The gracious logs and favorite points make my effort, time and cost worth while.“Do you want more great hides in your area? You can make it happen by doing two simple things:1) Use your favorite points! I have met many Geocachers who hoard them, give them out only rarely or say they don’t use them because they don’t believe in them. That just doesn’t make any sense. They don’t cost anything but two clicks of a mouse.2) Take the time to write a good log on a quality cache. TFTC is not acceptable unless it’s a sign, light post or a guard rail Geocache. Write a gracious originally written log even it’s only two sentences long. If you enjoy writing, please feel free to expound! Some people use creativity or unique details in their logs to make them fun for others to read. Those are the best!“These things will positively reinforce the best hiders in your area to continue hiding for you. Good hides require time, effort and expense. Favorite points and writing good logs cost you nothing, but give so much gratification to your hiders. Lastly, when you see them at social events go out of your way to tell them about a cache hide they created that you really enjoyed!”What geocachers are saying:“This is another example of just how creative geocachers can be. Thanks so much Dr. D for this very fun cache. Another favorite point coming your way.” – wisjanine“Glad to have finally solved the puzzle and retrieve the log. We met lots of travel bugs visiting Snoopy’s house today, looks like a cozy place to stay! Thanks for putting the extra effort on this cache for others to enjoy, very well done.” – SparkSeeker“Wow….. Ever since Gautam Gambhir took the field for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League with a shoulder injury, there has been a raging debate about whether the current crop of Indian cricketers value playing for their franchise more than their country. However, for Gambhir himself, the club versus country debate means nothing and answering the critics is not his concern.”I don’t want to answer anyone. It is all about being clear to your own conscience. The passion of playing for the country and the joy of representing every Indian across the world can never be replicated. Wearing the blue jerseys means a lot,” he told MAIL TODAY on the sidelines of the India Today Youth Summit.Referring to his decision to make himself unavailable for the Champions League T20 qualifiers, Gambhir said: “It was purely a medical call taken by my doctor. If he had given me the green signal to play, I would have been out their leading KKR.””All the talk about players being ready to fulfil club commitments doesn’t hold true in this case as I will not get any extra money for playing in the Champions League.”Not for once did it occur to me that I should skip the Champions League to please the critics. My doctor feels that I am still not ready to play a match. If we qualify for the main stages and I am allowed to play by my doctor, I will definitely take the field.”Gambhir feels that player management is a must in the modern scenario where teams are playing round the year. “As players we want to play as much as possible when we are doing well, but it is important that players who play in all the three formats are preserved well so that they can play longer and are fresh physically as well as mentally.advertisement”In the modern game, mental fatigue also needs to be avoided. It is important that every country has a pool of 25 players who are talented enough to play at the international level,” he said.No Indian fan can forget Gambhir’s knock of 97 in the final of the World Cup – a pressure cooker situation.Re-living the experience, Gambhir said: “It is every cricketer’s dream to win the biggest prize in the 50-over format of the game. I still believe I should have been a part of the squad in the 2007 World Cup.”But after the disappointment of not getting picked for the World Cup, came the high of winning the 2007 World T20. So that brought about a belief that everything is destined. “After the first few matches of the 2011 edition, came an article by Ian Chappell that I should be dropped and that egged me on and the rest is history.”After the purple patch under ex-coach Gary Kirsten, the drubbing against England under new coach Duncan Fletcher has come as a rude shock for fans.”Every captain and coach is as good as the team. Gary was a very hardworking person and he made us believe in ourselves. He reaped the rewards of the efforts he had put in with the team and deserved every bit of the success.”And after three years, you would obviously miss the person. But life goes on and we must respect his decision to quit and spend time with his family.”As far as the comparison is concerned, it is too early to judge Fletcher and we need to give him time to adapt,” said Gambhir.
