I’m convinced that we can do great things together,” he said at his Press conference.“I have respect for the fans and they have the right to criticise me, but for me it’s an extra stimulus.“I’ll get to work on both the players’ heads and how we set up on the field. These will be 10 important days and I’ll try to make the most of every opportunity.“My principles are based on ideas, intensity and ruthlessness. Giampaolo’s a good Coach, but he’s different to me.“I’ll have to be good at getting my ideas across to the team as quickly as possible. Let’s start with a good base.“There are some quality players here. Marco’s worked well. I’d like to play the football that the lads will enjoy playing.“I adapt to my players. I have to improve them individually so they can grow collectively.”The 53-year-old coached Inter with little success during the 2016-17 campaign and was an Nerazzurri fan growing up…“The past is the past, I was a kid. first_imgWaddle: England will not have better chance of winning Eurosby Paul Vegas14 days agoSend to a friendShare the loveFormer England winger Chris Waddle says the country will not have a better chance of winning the European Championships than next year. The 2020 edition will be held throughout 12 countries, with the semi-finals and final to be played at Wembley in London.Speaking to racingpost.com, Waddle said: “With the semi-finals and final being held at Wembley, England are not going to get a better chance of winning the European Championship than next year.”Gareth Southgate has done a good job and he has not been scared to bring players through. Against the Netherlands and Switzerland, they didn’t really perform and they didn’t play like England have been in the last 18 months.”But they have been generally playing well and I would be surprised if England don’t at least reach the last four at Euro 2020.”In qualifying it can be difficult going to hostile atmospheres across Europe, but they hammered Czech Republic at home and football-wise I haven’t seen a team in their group who are even 50 or 60 per cent as good as England are.” About the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your saylast_img read more

Josesito Lopez Breaks Victor Ortizs Jaw Ruins Title Hopes

Unproven welterweight Josesito Lopez made former welterweight champion Victor Ortiz quit on his stool Saturday night, breaking Ortiz’s jaw en-route to a miraculous upset victory. As he leaped onto the top rope, Lopez (30-4, 18 KOs) showed his surprise at Ortiz’s decision to quit, shrugging his shoulders and smiling at the Staples Center crowd. Lopez was a last minute replacement for Andre Berto, who failed a drug test in the months leading up to the fight.“I knew I had to fight the fight of my life to win,” said Lopez, a native of Riverside, California. “I knew the longer it went, the better chance I’d have. He hits hard, but I was never going to quit. I knew it was a close fight on the scorecards, and I knew I could press him more and more if I continued. He’s like a tree. I had to chop him down.”Ortiz came out strong, using his superior power and overall boxing skills to keep Lopez on the retreat. Despite his obvious disadvantages Lopez conterpunched Ortiz, who is subpar defensively, landing power punches in return.“I’m a man, and I’m not intimidated by anything, I have a big heart. He tried to intimidate me, but it didn’t work. Victor has no heart.”The upset put Ortiz’s career in flux. His showdown with Mexican star Saul “Canelo” Alvarez was abruptly cancelled after his defeat, and the boxer has lost his last two fights. read more
