It’s been a one-sided affair for all four quarters of this matchup.Maryland is being led by Mike Locksley once again this year. He’s certainly off to a strong start with the Terrapins. After the first half, Maryland had a 56-point lead over Howard. Quarterback Josh Jackson has completed 15-of-24 passes for 245 yards and four touchdowns.Since the Terrapins have dismantled the Bison throughout this game, they’ve taken their foot off the gas in the second half. Nonetheless, the scoreboard is still absurd. With the fourth quarter of action coming to an end, Maryland leads 79-0 over Howard.Putting up 79 points is obviously worth noting, but keeping your opponent scoreless makes it even more impressive. Here’s the official scoreboard as of now:WELCOME BACK, COLLEGE FOOTBALL pic.twitter.com/tEPXdaC9Rd— ESPN College Football (@ESPNCFB) August 31, 2019Maryland has outgained Howard by nearly 600 yards on the afternoon. However, the time of possession hasn’t been lopsided. The road from here only gets tougher for Maryland as Week 2 presents a showdown with No. 22 Syracuse.Regardless of how brutal the Terrapins’ schedule may appear in the coming weeks, Locksley has to be proud of how his players showed up in their season opener.last_img
