The visitors then overcame a late onslaught by Nitish Rana (85 not out) and Andre Russell (65 off 25 balls) to restrict the Knight Riders to 203 for 5 in 20 overs. The win was Bangalore’s second this season in nine games while Kolkata suffered their fourth successive defeat and are currently sixth on the points table after nine games.Crediting Kohli for the way he batted, KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik admitted that his team conceded 20-25 runs too many in the slog overs which ultimately led to their downfall.Karthik also pointed out that Moeen Ali’s knock actually turned the game on its head. Moeen’s innings in the absence of an injured AB de Villiers gave the much-needed impetus to RCB’s charge in the middle overs and turned the tide in their favour.”I think the way Moeen batted, he took the game away from us. He played a few good shots and credit to him. I thought they were 20-25 runs too many and that’s what happens when a player like Virat plays. It was a brilliant knock from him.”The ball was seaming a little, and the new ball had a bit in it and it wasn’t easy for stroke-making. If I had to look back, it was 20 runs too many. This is a hard wicket for the spinners and we were aware that we could take on their spinners and that brought the game close. I think RCB did the small things right today,” Karthik said after the match.advertisementChances of qualifying for the playoffs are quickly slipping out of KKR’s hands but Karthik remains optimistic and still has the belief in his team’s abilities.”If we play a couple of good games things will start to roll and I believe in my boys. If we do the right things we will be back on track,” Karthik said. Also Read | Promised AB de Villiers I will score a hundred: Virat Kohli after fireworks vs KKRAlso Read | IPL 2019: Virat Kohli hits 5th Indian Premier League hundred, 1st since 2016Also Read | Virat Kohli has 5 IPL hundreds as captain.
